Product design is the process of creating products people love to use — and it's one of the most in-demand skills in tech right now. But here's what most articles won't tell you: the gap between someone who "knows design" and someone who actually ships great products is enormous. And it's not about software. A few years ago, a team at Airbnb noticed something strange. Their booking numbers were solid, but users kept abandoning at the same stage of the process. Nobody could figure out why.
